[2022 edition] Breve Festival | Mineirão, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais | Brazil

Breve Arte is Breve Festival’s visual arts platform that presents extraordinary art installations and promotes memorable experiences for the festival’s audience.
Breve Arte’s first edition presented four installations created by artists who experimented different possibilities concerning what a metamorphosis could be and developed works that were presented as some kind of a sparkling reality-transforming portal. All four installations got bodies to move due to their sculpture, symbolic, and chromatic varieties. The encounter between artists from different regions of Brazil and abroad has established an engagement between the art made in the State of Minas Gerais and the rest of the world, and tried to reflect on how, for instance, part of Fefê Talavera’s production, who is from São Paulo, could engage with some of American Hot Tea’s interests; and also, how Portuguese Akacorleone’s temples could engage with the Afrofuturism of Zaika dos Santos, who is from the City of Belo Horizonte. It’s art as a great magical portal to be crossed.
