[2023 edition] Itabira, Minas Gerais | Brazil

MAPA – Mostra de Arte Pública is a public art festival designed for towns and cities that are not metropolitan areas in Brazil. It was founded in Itabira, Minas Gerais, hometown of poet Carlos Drummond de Andrade.
The project was designed by Pública partnering up with Associação Cultural Casinha and Marah Costa. MAPA wishes to go through the territories of cities and towns that are not metropolitan areas and take public art to people, in such a way as to transform their everyday lives. MAPA – Mostra de Arte Pública considers art to be a lighthouse that guides us through new journeys and leads us to discover more about non-metropolitan areas of Brazil, our culture, nature, and people.
